Elimination Round

Hypothetical question...

Let's say you were housesitting for a week, and you forgot to watch the Amazing Race finale, but you weren't worried because you had set your Tivo to tape the Amazing Race finale, and for the rest of the week you were really good about not reading spoilers, and really good about avoiding entertainment related websites, and you honestly still have no idea who won (thank the lord), and then you came home from housesitting only to discover that your Tivo didn't tape the the Amazing Race finale that you have now spent several days getting hyped to watch. What would you do?

Okay, I don't know why I said this was a hypothetical question. It's a real question. It happened. My Tivo didn't tape Amazing Race. The Amazing Race isn't Sarah Jessica Parker's favorite television show for no good reason; it's a really good show. And I'm going to be really bummed if I don't get to see the final two hours of this season.

Does anyone know how I might get a copy of the finale? Does anyone out there know anyone who might have it on tape? Or who might still have it saved on their Tivo? (I would totally drive to your house and have your first born baby if you'll let me watch it with you.) Or does anyone know if it's downloadable? (I am afraid to go to the cbs website because I don't want to see who the winners are.) Or does anyone have an aunt or an uncle or a father or a mother or a second-cousin-twice-removed who works at cbs and who might be able to snag a copy of the episode for me?

I am desperate. This is a desperate plea. Desperate.

Sorry, CBS is not hip enough to have video on their site. I mean, they have clips of the show, but they don't have the entire show like ABC does for Desperate Housewives.

And my friend Penny has it recorded. She would love for you to come watch it with her...She would even cook dinner for you! But she lives in Minnesota. Can you be there by suppertime?

Oh...Oh..Oh...FIRST!!!!

Bummer! I watched my TiVo'd version of ANTM and TAR season finales as soon as I got home from SAG Wednesday night. I deleted them both after watching. I'm so sorry, darlin'.

I hope you find a way to see it. Truly one of the best TAR finales yet. I so love that show and Phil's magic eyebrow!

drc, oh my god, I totally want to watch it with your friend Penny in Minnesota. That would be such a fun adventure. I really do wish I could drop everything and go to the airport right now and fly to Minnesota. How awesome would that be? Unfortunately, even though I can be spontaneous, I can't afford to be THAT spontaneous right now. But I'm tempted.

Bonnie, it's okay--that's what people do--they erase the shows as soon as they watch them. 'Cuz you gotta clear up some space of the Tivo for new shows. I need to find someone like Penny who still has it but who lives in California.

Bit Torrent it. I met a guy at Akbar on friday who works on it, that swore the Pink Ladies "pleasured" the frat guys and it's on tape. AND after you see it, I will tell you a secret about the last challenge that no one knows.

erik, i just got my car back at 7 PM last night. i was approached by many of hollywood's colorful street people in those ten hours.
(in my HOTTT 3" heels, which around noon I traded for Sav-On flip flops) (okay, not trade, i kept the 3" heels) (if it was a matter of a trade, I would have kept those 3" heels and just suffered a tad bit more.)
one invited me to come 'chill at his apartment around the corner'. another asked to use my cell phone and i was like, 'well what the fuck is ever going on anyway, why not!?' and he called his dealer!! who hung up on him. and i then got a phone call from some strange number at 1:40 AM.

i just had lunch with a friend who said she was now scared after seeing me she would be hit by a car on the way home.

i'm a mess. i need a hug.

What I want to know is if you ever got to see the finale of Ghost Whisperer? And if so, what did you think?

Anonymous said...

Erik,

I probably have it here at work. I can dub a vhs copy for you if ya want.

Jesse, I'm ignoring you technophobe comment.

Dave, I've had so many problems with my Tivo--I got backlogged on watching Ghost Whisperer and I thought I had both hours of the two part finale, but t turned out I had the episode BEFORE the two part finale (which was a repeat) and then the second part of the finale (the actual last episode), so I missed the plane crash itself, but I saw the finale and I thought it was great. I had been spoiled about what was going to happen to Aisha Tyler's character, but it still made me cry, and then that last moment...whoa! Do you think she's going to go over to the Dark Side and become a baddy next season????

Poor Melinda.

JD, I am afraid of Torrenting. Talk to Jesse about it. (re: my fear of technology)

OMG, ERIC:

YOU ARE MY HERO.

SERIOUSLY.

IF YOU COULD DUB ME A COPY OF THE EPISODE, YOU TOTALLY GET DIBS ON MY FIRST BORN CHILD.

I CANNOT STOP YELLING, I AM SO HAPPY.

THANK YOU.

OMG, YES.

Erik,

It is here and it's being dubbed.

Our tivo does that to us all the time and I'm always having to save its ass by making dubs. Which basically means I can never leave this job. Or maybe that means it's time for a more reliable tivo. One of those.

First child dibs not required. This time.

I not only watched the RW/RR Challenge intro episode TWICE at home (east coast feed), I went to a VIEWING PARTY of it in El Segundo and placed money on who (in our "fantasy league") will kick the most ass this season.

I. So. Love. This. Show!
