TheBusBoy (New Thing #72)

Oh my god.

The mystery has been solved: CLINK ME.

That was seriously the best prank that's ever been played on me. I went from being intrigued by the busboy to annoyed by the busboy to loving the busboy to being freaked out by the busboy to hating the busboy to trying to forget about the busboy to being okay with the busboy again and being resolved that I might not ever know who the busboy is to being freaked out by the busboy again to wanting to kill the busboy to embracing the busboy to hating the busboy again and now, finally, NOW THAT I KNOW WHO IT IS, I love the busboy.

Well played.

(But I still kinda want Danny the waiter to call me.)

(My apologies to the people who I called on the phone--who haven't been keeping up with the busboy saga--who I accused of being the busboy.)

(Oh, and who started the MySpace account? Because the busboy says he did everything except for starting the MySpace account.) (Which could be a lie, for all I know.)

(Also, by the way, I have never been pranked so hardcore, so I'm calling this New Thing #72: I've been punked.) (And thank god the BusBoy is one of my oldest friends because otherwise I'd probably be mad at the prankster right now...but after 15 years of friendship, it's easy to forgive.) (Even something like making up TheBusBoy.) (Frikkity frikken freak.)

(Thank you to Bo for finding the above ninja BusBoy picture.)

I got one, too, Joe...we've got some spy vs. spy action.

I'm glad TheBusBoy was so forthcoming, because there is so obviously not a half-decent detective in the house (or condo, as it were)!

Jesse,
I forgive you.
PAM

P.S.
You rock.

Phew... that was high drama.

Joe Chandler, I don't know who the myspace busboy is, but I've had enough mystery for one week...

Erik said...

aims, i'm glad you caught the fever though, cuz wasn't it fun?

Erik said...

MSA, I posted your picture with this entry. It's a nice pic. Very mysterious.

Erik said...

Christy, isn't it funny how TERRIBLE we all are as detectives???

Erik said...

PAM,
thank you for forgiving Jesse, he meant no harm.

Erik said...

Jeffro--it WAS high drama, wasn't it? Thanks for readin'...

Dave, I had a hunch there was no real busboy the whole time...it's funny because when I left the note for "Danny," I wasn't even certain that his name was "Danny," it just said "Danny" on the check, but part of me was like, "what if Danny is the name of someone else and the note will go to someone else," and that thought in my head fueled the possibility that the busboy might be real.

Life is exhausting sometimes.

Oy.

Adam, I did find your comment (I actually get emails notifying me of comments, so I don't really have to search for them...they come directly to me...that's one of the benefits of it being my blog) and I am replying to your comment here so that you can maintain your "last" position in that thread...

I am very excited that you've commented a second time.

Because once you've commented a second time, that means you're probably gonna do it a third time, and on and on and on until you are a total comment whore like me and many of my other favorite commenting fiends.

God that was fun!! I don't even care that I don't know who thebusboy is cuz it was fun reading all the speculation.

Hm... methinks I need more drama in my life! ;-)

Erik said...

But Rebecca, the drama is EXHAUSTING!

Uma should get mad props for her Murder She Wrote skillz.

Erik said...

Fine, Urp, FINE.

(Okay, sorry for the above attitude, I just wanted to give you attitude. You're right. You ARE a good detective and you guessed right and you should get a prize.)

Erik said...

Uma, are you happy now that I said you were a good detective and Jesse gave you mad propz?

Erik said...

I call you Urp when I'm in a loving mood.

I call you Uma when I'm talking about you to other people or when I'm pissy.

And I only call you darkie when we're together and I want you to wait on me.

Erik said...

Urpma, the busboy didn't fucking kill my blog. My lack of posting a new post killed my blog. Maybe I'll post another post tonight...? (Maybe.)

(What does it mean when I call you Urpma?)

TheBusBoy killing blogs dead, since 2006.

Oh, dear BusBoy, what are we going to do with you. (THANK GOD YOU DID NOT KEEP THE PRANK GOING FOR A WEEK LIKE YOU WERE THINKING OF DOING BECAUSE I LITERALLY WOULD HAVE GONE INSANE BY NOW.)

christy said...

Erik, your already-insanity is what gave TheBusBoy life.

WE NEED A NEW FUCKING POST!
