I have decided that 2006 will be "my year of new things." Every day, for the next 365 days, I will do at least one thing that I have never done before in my life. It can be a big thing or a small thing. Like, for instance, here are some things I have never done before, listed in order of "easiest to accomplish" to "most difficult to accomplish":
I have never watched an episode of Law and Order.
I have never eaten escargot.
I have never milked a cow.
I have never kissed Tom Cruise.
I have never gotten drunk with my mother.
I have never gone sky diving.
I have never been to the top of the Eiffel Tower.
I have never been named "the ultimate Survivor" by Jeff Probst.
And since I ain't ever done any of these things, they're all fair game for my year of new things.
Fun, right? It's like I'm letting my internal Ferris Bueller show my internal Cameron around for the next 365 days.
I'm very excited. I don't know what my new thing for today is going to be yet, but I'll make sure to update this ol' here blog after I've done it.
TTFN.
Update: This is tricky. I'm revising my plan. Some days it's kinda hard to do a New Thing. Some days I'm able to do more than one. So...the new plan is: 365 new things this year, not necessarily every day. I will update the blog every time I do something new.

Erik,
I would love to get drunk with you.
Mom
Erik? Did you read this? Why aren't there more comments about this? This is a really funny comment from your mom!

I know. I love this. My mom didn't start reading my blog until a week into it or so and so she was late to the comment game and by the time she made this comment I don't think anyone has gone back and read this post and you might be the first person to notice this comment. It's too funny. We haven't gotten drunk together yet. But I love that she made the offer.
Is it possible that SUNDAY is the day your mom gets drunk with you for the first time?!?
And it is another NEW THING on that day too?
Just wonderin'!
Bonnie, I so love that you just posted a comment on MY FIRST BLOG ENTRY EVER, even though it's so fricking old now. (Three months! That's, like, almost two years in blog years.)
