Question

You know those shoes that have wheels in their heels? Do they only make them for kids, or do they make them for adults too? Anyone know? Because I hate wearing shoes, but I was doing some christmas shopping today and I saw some kids at the mall wearing those heel-wheel shoes, and I so totally want a pair. If you don't know me off-blog, then you might not realize the significance of me wanting a pair of shoes. I hate shoes. I only wear flip-flops. This is huge, this is big. I want the shoes. Someone, please, tell me they make them for adults.

Yes, they make them in adult sizes. I saw them at our mall. They were like $75.

Whoa! I don't ever buy shoes ('cuz, like I said, I don't wear 'em), but that sounds expensive for shoes that aren't, like, Manohla Blaniks.

Erik, I'm not sure how we don't know each other yet, but as a current fan and future friend...Manolo Blahnik.

But Terence, I KNEW there was an "h" in there somewhere!

And if anyone ever thought that Manolo Blahniks couldn't be more gay, they never spelled Manolo with an "oh" and a "la" in it. Not that Manolo Blahniks are gay, necessarily. But they're really hard to spell.

and Blanhniks are more than 75 bucks. Carrie is so spitting in your face right now.

They do make them in adult sizes... they're called Heely's and you can get them at shoes.com for $60. I bought a pair from them for my son for Christmas.

I don't like shoes either and I want a pair too!! I totally understand!!!! :-)

Jesse is right. I can't believe you thought M.B. were $75. That's like one inch of fabric on those gorgeous shoes.

But I'm sure you knew that. You were just so excited about the Heely's, thats all.

And $75 is not expensive for shoes, no matter the brand. Shoes is the one area you dont want to scrimp on. They have to have support and comfort and all that jazz.

Yeah, I saw somebody at work scoot across a courtyard using them. They'd be a real asset if you were late for class....

Aw geez, 3 posts. Sorry Erik. Stupid blogger.

Rebecca, I like that you made your comment three times. It really hit the point home!

Heely's shoes with wheels in their heels are so totally on my christmas list now.

(I wear size thirteen, if anyone is wondering!)

Jesse and Gina, I didn't think that Manolo Blahniks were 75 bucks, I know they're more expensive, I watch Sex and the City! I was just saying that I wouldn't pay 75 bucks for shoes UNLESS they were manolo blahniks, in which case it would be a sweet deal (right? see?) and then I could sell them for a huge profit because unless Manolo Blahnik makes flip-flops, I'm never wearing any Manolo Blahniks. (However, I've typed the words Manolo and Blahnik enough that I've finally learned how to spell them.)

FWL, it would be SUCH an asset. I would be in heaven. I dream of scooting around on my heels. If only Heely's made flip-flops with wheel, THAT would be amazing. (Though probably really dangerous.)

Long time reader, first time commenter.

I'm so glad to hear that another adult wants to wear those shoes!!!

I started wanting them when I was pregnant because I was sick of actually walking with the extra weight. But then I was pregnant and a natural faller on wheels, so I never looked into it!!

I finally have something to ask for for christmas....for for.

this has been bugging me for the past two hours, and why I'm so concerned about my comment..who knows. I'm neurotic that way.

I actually hate when people say 'long time listener, first time caller'!!!
I hate that! why did i say that?!
why?!

I totally want a pair because my bf is 6'5" and I am only 6'1" and when we walk together he takes these long ass steps and I end up having to run to keep up with him!

All of these new commenters! I'm so excited!

Michele, reading the phrase "Long time reader, first time commenter" made me so happy you don't even know. So don't be neurotic about it. (Actually, DO be neurotic about it because I understand neurotic. But let it go now!)

And I also love that you commented on your own usage of "for for" because I also hate when sentences require you to double a word awkwardly. It's usually "that that."

Thom, ask for them for Christmas or Hanukkah! It's totally THE thing to ask for these days. At least it is in this comment thread, and that's all that matters right now.

I feel like I used an inordinate amount of exclamation points in the last two comments and I wanted to point out that I only slept for four and a half hours last night and so my brain might be slightly wonky and not-quite-awake-yet. And I'm not a morning person anyway.

But I still am excited about new commenters.

check out my blog today..there's a post there you might be intrested in.

BTW, I found a photo of us in high school and you're rocking the mullet. Would you be bummed if I posted it?

Erik said...

I would be bummed if you DIDN'T post it!

When everyone was saying that I had a mullet in that one other picture, I wasn't trying to dispute it because I didn't want people to know i had a mullet. I was disputing it because I simply didn't think I had the mullet yet in that particular picture.

But I love my teenage mullet, so post away.

Thom, Michele, and Rebecca: click the link on Gina's name to go to her blog for info on an amazing deal for the wheel-in-the-heel shoes. We all have to get them now.

Serious goodness.

More options for those of you looking for Heelys for Christmas:
http://www.heelys.com/buyonline.html
This is the main web site for these shoes and the online retailers that sell the shoes. I want some too :)Matt

Thank you for the heads up, Matt. I just went to the site and did some surfing. Which is so weird because I hate shoe shopping but all of a sudden I love shoe shopping. I feel like a paradox might have been created in the time/space continuum.
